New here? Welcome!

Wave - Welcome

Home for the Harvest is about way more than keeping your plants alive for more than a week.

…But don’t worry, we definitely do that, too.

Our philosophy

We’re kind of opinionated around here.

We have fun, try new things, take shortcuts, and celebrate mistakes. And our gardens love it!

There goes another maidenhair fern…

1. Behind every great gardener is a pile of dead plants

Yup. It’s true.

And behind every garden is someone who had a vision and took a chance.

We help you learn to grow plants one step at a time. Whether its planting carrot seeds or rooting houseplant cuttings, there’s always something left to learn.

Gardening isn’t about having a “green thumb”. There’s lots of research about how to grow things and we bring it to you.

2. Unlock the thrill (and sometimes surprise) of growing things

We love watching plants grow. They’re fascinating! Not everything works out, but there’s nothing like the thrill of picking a strawberry you grew.

Straight home or to the garden center

FYI – We’re not feeding an entire village here. This is not a survival gardening website and we would be woefully unprepared homesteaders.

We just like plants….man.

As we learn, we love to share too. And we’ll grow one plant at a time.

3. Don’t follow stupid rules

Wondering if something will work? Try it! We love doing experiments and learning what works in our own gardens rather than what we “should do”.
